The name "Dahanu Gaon" is derived from the word "Dhenu Gram," which means "cow village". Back in the day, Dahanu residents owned a large number of cattle, particularly cows. Dahanu is now a major commercial and industrial centre in the Palghar district. The general mode of transportation in and around town is using state transport buses (Maharashtra State Transport Corporation) and auto rickshaws. The National Highway NH8 runs through the taluka near Charoti, approximately 25 kilometers east of Dahanu. Dahanu Road has its own railway station. It is located on the Mumbai Suburban Railway network's Western line. Although the track continues north to Gholvad and beyond, it is the northern limit (terminal station) of the Suburban local train network. Churchgate, Dadar, Borivali, Virar, and Panvel are all served by regular local trains and Memu. Dahanu also has direct express trains that connect it to cities such as Mumbai, Surat, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa, Trivandrum, Bhuj, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jamnagar, Delhi, Amritsar, Firozpur, and Porbandar.

But make sure you time your arrival in Virar correctly, or you may have to wait a long time for the next train. The train ride from Virar to Dahanu takes about an hour and a half. Once in Dahanu, take a rickshaw. Ordi is slowly becoming known, and for those who still want peace. The next best option is Dahanu. The restaurant is the highlight of the establishment, where good food is served quickly. So the food is ready before you finish your drink.
