The recently inaugurated Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, costing ₹13,000 crore, has reduced travel time between Delhi and Dehradun to 2.5 hours. This improved connectivity is driving surge in real estate demand, with property prices already seeing a 15-30% increase and projected to rise another 15-25% in the next 18-24 months.

Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority has approved a ₹968 crore development plan for the financial year 2026-27, focusing on sustainable urban expansion, infrastructure enhancement, and green initiatives. This initiative is expected to attract private investment, boost tourism, and create employment opportunities.

The 12-kilometer bypass project around Dehradun, a ₹716 crore initiative by the National Highways Authority of India, has reached 44% completion. This four-lane greenfield highway, connecting Jhajhra to the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, is slated for completion by April 2027.

MCD is having board meeting on April 29 to discuss 65 proposals concerning civic amenities, infrastructure, and governance. Key agenda items include measures against illegal factories, regulation of pubs and hookah bars, and improving traffic management. Land proposals involve establishing a new fire station near Sahastradhara helipad and a power substation in Nakraunda.

NHAI is constructing a 12-kilometer, four-lane greenfield bypass connecting the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor. This project, with a cost of ₹716 crore, aims to enhance regional connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in Dehradun. The bypass is expected to be completed by April 2027 and will divert non-destined traffic away from the city's urban core.

The Uttarakhand Public Works Department (PWD) has unveiled a five-year master plan with an investment of ₹74,100 crore to upgrade road connectivity and infrastructure. The plan includes converting 5,735 km of unpaved roads to paved roads, upgrading 1,200 bridges, and repairing 91 dilapidated bridges.

The newly inaugurated Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is set to significantly boost property values across Delhi-NCR, western Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Experts predict a 15-25% appreciation in key areas within the next 18-24 months, with some pockets already experiencing sharper gains.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that Dehradun is being developed as a leading metropolitan city with over Rs 1400 crore worth of projects underway. These include modern mechanized waste transfer stations, an Integrated Command and Control Centre for waste management monitoring, and the development of green spaces with 35 new parks.

The much-anticipated Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is expected to open in April 2026, significantly reducing travel time between the two cities from approximately five to six hours to around two to two-and-a-half hours. This development is poised to boost tourism, improve logistics, and foster regional economic growth. The expressway features a six-lane, access-controlled design and is built at an estimated cost of ₹11,800 to ₹12,000 crore.
