Dhaula Kuan is a Hindi name that, when translated to English, means "a white well". The name of this locality comes from the ancient well, which has white-coloured sand. As per history and the locals here, the well can be dated back to the times of Shah Alam II, the Mughal Emperor of India between 1761 and 1806 CE.
