DDA Unveils 1,675 New Flats for JJ Cluster Residents
The Delhi Development Authority has achieved success with its second In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project, providing 1,675 newly constructed flats to residents of JJ clusters through the Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, Delhi. The project focuses on improving housing for the underprivileged, with eligible beneficiaries contributing a nominal amount, accounting for less than 7 per cent of the total construction cost.
Infrastructure Development Initiatives Accelerate Growth
The Central Government’s efforts to enhance Delhi’s infrastructural growth are expediting the development of the Narela sub-city. Key project highlights include the World Trade Centre (WTC) at Nauroji Nagar, featuring 34 lakh square feet of premium business space with advanced facilities, and the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar, consisting of 28 buildings with more than 2,500 modern residential units.
Focus on Educational Infrastructure at Delhi University
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for three new projects worth over Rs 6 billion at Delhi University, enhancing educational infrastructure in the city. These projects include the Western Campus at Dwarka, the Eastern Campus at Surajmal Vihar in East Delhi, and Veer Savarkar College in Roshanpura, Najafgarh, which will be equipped with cutting-edge facilities.
CBSE’s Integrated Office Complex Sets Example for Sustainable Building Practices
Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated CBSE’s Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka, a model for environmentally friendly building practices. The complex features an auditorium, state-of-the-art offices, a computer center, and an advanced water management system, complying with the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Platinum Rating standards.
