Nayagaon is a residential locality in Chandigarh, sharing its borders with Punjab on three sides. It has been gaining popularity amongst people looking for affordable housing in the area, especially students. The major crowd of the locality is dominated by students. It mainly offers independent houses and residential plots in the real estate market. It is situated very close to the Haryana Secretariat and the high court complex of the union territory region. It is however a densely populated locality and the housing units are located very close to each other. It is also located near some other prime localities.

There are also complaints of frequent power cuts and electricity shortages in some parts.
Nayagaon is a well-connected locality through the road network. Karoran Road and Dillon Road passing through the locality enhance its connectivity further by connecting it to the rest of Chandigarh City. If you take the Vigyan Path, you can easily reach the Chandigarh Railway Station which is just 10 km from here. The Chandigarh International Airport is a bit far at a distance of approximately 26 km away. The locality has no metro connectivity but the rest of the public transportation can be easily accessed.

It also has several shopping complexes, markets, student-friendly cafes and hotels. Two popular shopping malls are the City Mall and TDI Mall. Sector 17 is also just 5 km away, which is a famous market for traditional items. Dharam Hospital and Max super specialty Hospitals are some of the renowned hospitals around here. The locality is known for its educational institutes, some of which are the Himalayan Public Heart School and Noble Heart School.
