The Kharghar railway station offers great connectivity to the CST in Mumbai and it takes approximately 65-70 minutes to complete this journey. The Eastern Freeway is accessible from Kharghar and so is the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus. The Santacruz-Chembur Link Road is another connectivity lifeline that can be accessed from the area. The six-lane Pune-Mumbai Expressway starts at Kalamboli which lies just 4 kilometres away from Kharghar.Kalyan, Nashik and Thane are easily accessible from Kharghar while the NMMT bus network is a major connectivity lifeline running till Thane, Panvel, Vashi, Khopoli, Dombivali and Taloja. The Nhava Sheva-Sewri sea link will also boost connectivity hugely in the area while the proposed International Airport at Navi Mumbai will also boost development and progress in the area.Kharghar is home to the National Institute of Fashion Technology or NIFT which came here from Dadar in 2002-03. This is one of the country’s most prestigious and iconic educational institutions. There are several other educational institutions in and around the area. Companies like Siemens India Ltd have taken up huge offices in the locality and there are two enclaves of the Indian Armed Forces here as well. The Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer is also located in the area. An 18 hole golf course opposite the huge and beautiful Central Park has also been built by the CIDCO. These are two of the biggest recreational zones in Kharghar and the park covers 80 hectares and three sectors. The Park also comes with fountains, lovely botanical gardens, theme parks, conservatories and other proposed attractions like food courts. There are dedicated trails for joggers here as well. ISCKON also has a temple site at this area while there is another CIDCO Park in Sector 20. The Little World Mall and Glowmax Mall are major shopping malls here and both have multiplex facilities. D-Mart, Reliance Fresh and More are among the retail outlets and supermarkets in the area.Property prices have gone up by approximately 1.8% in the area as per Q3 2015 while average prices stand at around INR 8, 556 per sq. ft. here for the same period.
