Adjoining means next to any building, room, house, land, or thing.
By adjoining, we mean being next to something, usually a house, room or property. It also means bounding/touching at any specific point. This term is used to denote the relative positions of objects to each other. This also means that they are in contact at a direct level, whether attached, or otherwise. It also indicates properties that share borders, boundaries, walls, or touch at any point.
Two houses, plots of land, or rooms will adjoin each other or be called as adjoining units, if they are right next to one another. They may touch each other at any particular point as well. Adjoining properties thus mean those properties where the borders are shared with any other property, either partly or fully. All owners of such properties are expected to use their dwellings in an appropriate manner, without interfering with or hindering the legal and social rights of adjoining property owners. For land parcels or plots, it means those plots which touch along any specific boundary. Such scenarios often necessitate easements from the owners of adjoining land/property, in order to ensure the right of way or movement.
