BR usually means brick if you talk about architectural and property-related terminologies. However, there are various meanings or definitions of the term as you will find below.
There could be three definitions for the BR terminology. These include the following:
1. Brick- BR could mean brick in property terminology, indicating the unit for building of any standard size and usually crafted from clay that is baked. This material may also be concrete or even calcium silicate. Metric bricks have standard sizes of 65 x 102.5 x 215 millimeters in the United Kingdom for instance.
2. Bedroom- This is the most-accepted definition of the BR terminology. It is used to denote bedrooms in a property or unit.
3. Bathroom- In some cases, bathrooms are also denoted by the usage of the BR term. However, their symbol is mostly BA.
The commonest usage of BR in real estate is to denote bedrooms in any apartment, independent house, villa, bungalow, duplex, independent floor, and other property types. For example, a property advertisement, plan or brochure may have 2 BR Apartment written on it. This indicates that the apartment has two bedrooms. The abbreviation may also be used for indicating bedrooms in building sketches, plans, and layouts.
While BR may be used for denoting bathrooms in some cases, the commonly-preferred abbreviation for the same is BA.
