The BCA symbolizes the Building Code of Australia. This comes within the National Construction Code or NCC. This offers the standardized and minimum strictures and requirements for health, safety, amenities, and sustainability provisions for the construction and designing of new structures/buildings and also new construction work for existing structures/buildings throughout the country.
The definition thus means the code of regulations for new construction/development and for new works in existing structures that are released by the Australian Building Codes Board.
The National Construction Code is where the Building Code of Australia (BCA) is encompassed. This is the set of guidelines that play an important role in regulating the development and construction of new projects throughout the country, while also regulating new construction work done for existing buildings/structures. There are several Volumes contained in the document. Volume One has regulations for Class 2-9 or commercial, multi-residential, public, and industrial structures/buildings. Volume Two is about Class-1 residential and Class-10 buildings and structures that are not habitable. Volume Three is about the regulations for drainage and plumbing for all types of buildings. There is a master Guide along with the Consolidated Performance Requirements as well.
