Chattel is considered an alternative to any tangible personal property. The main difference between real estate property and chattel is that chattel is a movable property, whereas real estate is a fixed asset in one particular location.
You can also compare chattel to an intangible property that cannot be felt, moved, or touched. Property rights relating to chattel are weak and less enforceable compared to the rights on any real estate property. Therefore, the main difference is that real estate is fixed in a position, and chattel is movable.
