Andheri East, Mumbai Reviews

I love this place. Andheri East is ideally suited for the Mumbai hustle as it gives the city its actual commercial pulse. All within minutes, the local train station. Metro Line 1, Western Express Highway and foreign airport make up an unbeatable transport network. For my job in the adjacent MIDC/SEEPZ region, which is rather vital. Opportunities abound in the neighbourhood good social infrastructure including excellent hospitals and schools means all I need is always nearby. Contributing to the impression of security are mostly well-lit and kept roads. The one thing that absolutely has to be fixed is the ongoing absence of planned parking spaces, which causes needlessly stressful vehicle ownership here.

I suggest Andheri East to customers. Close to SEEPZ, it is a significant residential and commercial centre. Connectivity is great with Western Express Highway and airport. Constant metro initiatives, Line 7A to the airport among others, are fostering connections. Daily simplicity comes from major malls, hospitals, and excellent schools. High rental demand is kept by strong office demand from corporate campuses and SEZs. Standard rental yields range from three to four and a half percent. Though they vary by neighborhood, prices per square foot typically reach the mid twenty thousand. Modern amenities and resale prospects abound in new residential developments. One aspect to work on is better arranged low-cost housing. I Support It as a Savvy Purchase.

Positive

Positive: Working professionals should find Andheri East ideal. Here, the convenience is just unrivalled. I am minutes from the Western Express Highway and the Metro, which renders my travel almost effortless, as we have excellent communication. Being right next door to big commercial centres like MIDC and SEEPZ is a great relief. From local marketplaces that are alive to outstanding hospitals like SevenHills, everything I require is available.

Negative

Negative: Often high, the noise and air pollution results mostly from the continuous, dense traffic on the major roads. The drainage demands critical consideration. A few areas always have waterlogging issues during the strong monsoon season. Andheri East would be perfect for everyone if the city could mend these problems.

Positive: I selected Andheri East mostly due to its unparalleled connectivity, strategically located close to the airport and highly favored by the Blue Line metro station. The best aspect was the ease of access to basic amenities right within it, ranging from credible schools such as St. John The Evangelist High School to medical facilities such as Holy Spirit. Being close to commercial centers such as MIDC made it perfect.

Negative

Negative: Yet, a few glitches were prominent. There was a clear shortage of parking space, which was something that troubled car owners incessantly. Moreover, the neighbourhood was subjected to recurring power cuts, particularly during the monsoon and scorching summer periods.

I personally believe that Andheri East benefits from the widespread railway and metro networks. This makes it one of the top neighbourhoods in Mumbai, with the airport being easily accessible, while the social amenities are top-notch, considering the educational institutions and hospitals in the vicinity. Also, the completion of the Gokhale Bridge has been another game-changer for the neighbourhood. I also love how the Mahakali Caves and many other tourist landmarks are situated in close proximity to the locality.

Negative

Some of the issues in this locality include massive traffic volumes, pollution, and of course, limited nightlife choices in comparison to Andheri West. Garbage disposal is another issue that has to be fixed here.

I believe Andheri East is one of the best-connected neighbourhoods in Mumbai. The railway station is nearby from the place, while the Metro Line 1 is also accessible from here. The best part is that you get access to the Central, Western, and Harbour railway networks as well. I work in the SEEPZ, and it is easily accessible from here as well. The BKC is also well-connected to the place, where my spouse works. Andheri East is slightly more affordable than the western part of the neighbourhood, which I feel is a big plus point. Parking slots are rarely available in the locality, and this is a key issue that needs to be highlighted.

Positives: I selected this area because the connectivity is phenomenal. The Western Express Highway, the Andheri Blue Line Metro and the airport are all within a few minutes. My best feature is the great connectivity to hospitals such as SevenHills. It is certainly costlier, but as an owner, I embrace this fantastic location and wonderful security.

Negative

Negatives: But I am always concerned about the traffic density and air pollution here. The regular bumper-to-bumper traffic on roads like the Andheri-Kurla Road produces hellish noise pollution, which is a big worry for my health. And then there is the dearth of adequate green areas and public parks, which is irritating.

Andheri West is a prime location in Mumbai, known for offering all the amenities that are needed for a comfortable lifestyle in the city. Personally, I love shopping at the Lokhandwala Market. This is one of the best markets in the entire city, and you will often find celebrities coming down here to enjoy the cool vibe. The area is home to several top-class restaurants and cafes as well, while the Highway and SV Road take care of commuting needs as well. The Metro Line 1 passes nearby, which is another huge benefit for the residents.

Negative

They should fix the potholes on the main roads throughout the entire stretch.

Andheri East is extremely livable, at least as far as I’m concerned. It’s very close to the Highway and JVLR alike, something that makes road connectivity a breeze for all of us residents. At the same time, the Line 1 and 7 of the metro network is accessible, while you also get the railway station and Andheri-Kurla Road. I find it very easy to commute to multiple places in Mumbai from this location, while bypassing the traffic jams elsewhere. My workplace is in the SEEPZ, so that’s also a short drive away.

Negative

The only thing that the authorities should focus on is the monsoon waterlogging. This damages cars, and they should clean the drainage system in advance.

Positives: Andheri East is where the strategic area is, it's a huge corporate area just opposite the airport. The Metro Line 1 and Western Express Highway makes it easy to commute. The roads are always well illuminated, so I don't feel threatened. Presence of major schools and hospitals around it is a huge plus. My experience here is top-notch.

Negative

Negatives: The perpetual air and noise pollution throughout the day is what really disturbs me. We require immediate remedial work on road conditions, particularly as the traffic congestion on the highway during rush hours is appalling. Monsoon waterlogging is a major yearly concern. Limited parking space is trouble for many peoples.

I personally find Andheri East to be the best-connected neighbourhood of Mumbai. Living here for so many years has been a great experience for my entire family. There are quite a few well-known residential societies here, while the people are so friendly and well-behaved. You have the JVLR, Western Express Highway, Andheri-Kurla Road, and even the Metro Line 1 and access to Line 7. Then there’s the Andheri railway station as well. You’ll find it so easy to access the airport, the MIDC, SEEPZ, and even the BKC. Social amenities are readily available as well. What’s not to like? The only issue here is waterlogging during the monsoons and the absence of adequate greenery in some stretches.

Positives: I feel charged staying here, and it is a center of opportunities. The locality is near the airport and business hubs such as MIDC and SEEPZ. Metro, buses and local trains provide easy commutes. I have nearby malls, restaurants and green oases where I take short strolls. The area is safe and has many young professionals and families. Future metro extensions and office developments make this location future-proof.

Negative

Negatives: I do have a couple of issues that irk me. Roads become crowded during rush hours and traffic is stressful. Few inner lanes are in bad condition. Some parts of the commercial areas are noisy very late at night. Nevertheless, I still recommend Andheri East because of the ease of accessibility and active lifestyle.

I work in the nearby MIDC and have lived in Andheri East for many years now. The area has developed pretty fast, and today, it is one of the most popular places in the city. Also, the railway connectivity is excellent, since you get access to all three lines. The Metro Lines 1 and 7 are both accessible, and the JVLR and Highway are also the major connectivity lifelines here. The airport is easy to reach within less than 20 minutes as well. Parks, local markets, stores, and restaurants are all available, while the Versova Beach is a nearby hangout that you can reach in about 15-20 minutes as well.

Negative

I feel that the parking problems and traffic congestion in the area make it slightly unlivable. This should be fixed on priority.

I start my day with client meetings in Andheri East and enjoy the vibe and ease of the area. SEEPZ, MIDC and various office parks make it a robust jobs centre and enhance rental demand. The connectivity is great with the Western Express Highway, JVLR, and Mumbai Metro interchanges. Recent metro additions and future lines planned hold out the promise of improved mobility and quicker city connectivity. There are quite a few new residential launches and branded developments, so customers have new-age amenities and options. Green oases are scarce, but civic parks and tree-lined avenues provide relief and shade. My recommendation is Andheri East for working professionals who want work-life balance and investment opportunities. Two areas for improvement are traffic congestion in heavy traffic and intermittent drainage and road maintenance.

I work in the nearby MIDC zone, and hence Andheri East was suitable when I wanted to invest somewhere nearby. The community is peaceful enough, and there are excellent social amenities like markets, parks, schools, healthcare centres, and so on. The JVLR is one of the main connectivity lifelines of the area, and of course, you get both the railway and metro station access, something that really makes travelling so convenient and hassle-free. My wife works in Powai, which is also pretty much accessible from here. So, location-wise, we are very satisfied.

Negative

I find that parking slots are limited in the area whenever I go out for shopping at the local markets. I wish that this were improved by the civic authorities.

Andheri East is a livable neighbourhood in my opinion, and there are plenty of housing choices, with budgets being slightly on the higher side. There is the railway station that links to the Central, Western, and Harbour lines, while the Mumbai Metro Line 1 also runs here, which allows me to quickly reach Ghatkopar. The Line 7 is also available, enhancing connectivity to Dahisar East. There is the plus point of easy access to the WEH and JVLR, along with the Andheri-Kurla Road. The airport is just 15-16 minutes from my home. I find it to be the most-connected area in all of Mumbai. Social amenities are just fine as well.

Negative

My only issue is the peak-hour traffic jams that really threaten to disrupt my peace.

What’s not to like? I have been staying here for many years now. Andheri East is a very nice locality, and my family is one of the earliest people to be here. We are now here for three generations, even though that’s hard to believe! I love the connectivity to the airport, which is a non-negotiable factor for someone like me. I can reach the airport in about 17-18 minutes from my home, no matter when I travel. So, that’s a big plus point, not to mention the easy access to the Versova Beach. I love driving down there (takes hardly 14-15 minutes) and watching the sunrise or sunset. In fact, it has been my favourite pastime for many years now. All other infra and amenities are at par with most premium Mumbai localities, and property prices have appreciated tremendously.

Coming to Andheri East was one of our smartest moves, mainly due to its unrivaled location close to the airport and its phenomenal commercial development with centers like MIDC and SEEPZ providing such abundant job opportunities. The connectivity is fantastic; with the Andheri Railway Station, Metro, and the Western Express Highway within reach, traveling throughout Mumbai is quite convenient, and we like it more because it is also more affordable than Andheri West. Social infrastructure is complete with good schools and hospitals, and the neat street makes it safe, even late at night. Nevertheless, we would really appreciate immediate action on the issue of insufficient parking space, a perennial headache for car owners here.

Andheri East was a pleasure to live in, considering how it is excellently connected to several areas in Mumbai. There is the Western Express Highway nearby, along with the JVLR and the Andheri-Kurla Road. The Andheri railway station is there, and the Metro Line 1 station is also accessible for smooth connectivity. Then the Line 3 and 7 projects are coming up, which will keep making it easier to access various areas. One big advantage for me, at least, was the proximity to the airport, which is only 3 kilometres away. It used to benefit me a lot when I used to travel to the airport. When I was previously staying here, it was easy to get to the SEEPZ, where I worked. The Western part of the locality had higher prices, and this part had relatively better flat pricing.

Negative

Nightlife amenities are more in the Western part of the neighbourhood. This can be improved in Andheri East, while waterlogging and the potholes are other areas that need to be changed.

Positives: Andheri East centrally positioned and within reach of all. Metro, local train, and the International Airport are minutes away. The entire locality is a huge business and commercial complex, with MIDC right next door. Streets are safe and well-lit, and we have nice green oases like Nana Nani Park for some quick relief from the city chaos.

Negative

Negatives: The Western Express Highway becomes outrageously jammed in office hours, adding significantly to the noise and air pollution. Positives: It is an employment to possess a property in Andheri East. The place is providing excellent connectivity through the Western Express Highway, the Andheri Railway Station, and the Andheri Metro Station, with the International Airport close by. With being a successful commercial center with accessibility to MIDC, it is providing limitless possibilities and direct access to superior schools such as Podar International and Marol Pragatik High School.

Negative

Negatives: The biggest issue is that we don't have adequate public parking space, which is very inconvenient for residents as well as guests. Additionally, the locality is waterlogged in a few low lying lanes during the heavy monsoon season, and we also experience routine power cuts, particularly in summer.

Positives: Andheri East locality had convenient connectivity to Andheri Metro, Western Express Highway, and the airport. Nearby were schools like Podar International and Bombay Cambridge and hospitals like Kokilaben and Jupiter, which were trustworthy. Shopping at Phoenix Marketcity and nearby local markets was convenient, and I had nearby parks for morning walks.

Negative

Negatives: Yet, peak hour traffic congestion was common, and waterlogging in monsoon. There was limited parking, high air and noise pollution, and some of the roads required maintenance. The frequency of public transportation could be increased, and illumination in some of the lanes was inadequate. Overall, it was vibrant and well networked but required improved infrastructure, traffic control, sanitation, parking, pollution management, and illumination.

Malls, hospitals and good shops are all within reach. I enjoy the blend of corporate centres and neighborhood living. Rentals and housing options accommodate many budgets and everyday needs are easy to fulfill.

Negative

Negatives: I think a few things can be bettered. Improved monsoon drainage to prevent waterlogging, better parking facilities in residential pockets to make space comfortable. Also, cleaner public spaces with waste collection twice a day and park maintenance. If these civic remedies occur, Andheri East will be even more pleasant to live in.

Positives: I think moving here as a renter has been great. Primarily because of its status as a big commercial and residential center. The connectivity is simply great, seamlessly connecting to the airport, Metro Blue Line, and local train system. I like the clean and lighted streets, the variety of dinning options, and proximity to basic facilities such as hospitals and schools.

Negative

Negatives: I have observed a few problems that surely need urgent addressing to enhance the life here. First, there is a critical issue with water logging during the intense monsoon rain due to a poor drainage network. Second, the noise and air pollution rates are very high. Third, it is very hard to find parking space within the neighborhood because there are not enough provision areas.

Negative

Negatives: But sincerely, the monsoon season puts me on edge about staying here. My greatest gripe is the extreme waterlogging; each heavy downpour converts key intersections and the Andheri subway into a puddle, making me late for the office. Secondly, the round-the-clock air and noise pollution from the Western Express Highway is just too much. I am also incredibly frustrated by the utter absence of decent public parking.

Negative

Negatives: Drawbacks are increased rents in good towers, waterlogging at times in low pockets and underpasses in heavy monsoon. In addition, industrial pollution and stinky smells surround a few pockets, and sounds from construction and the metro. I also observe fewer green open spaces and parking problems in older buildings. Negative

Negatives: Common waterlogging in low-lying subways, excessive construction dust and air pollution, decreasing open spaces as the developments expanded, and irregular civic services such as clogged drains and erratic water supply. Andheri East makes sense for anyone looking to live in a well-connected Mumbai locality. At least, that’s what attracted my parents here, back in the 1990s. Today, it has developed very fast, and has seen a huge jump in property prices. The good thing is that the Metro Line 1 is the main connectivity lifeline, and also, the key benefit is that you can quickly access the airport. That’s one of the main benefits. I also like the fact that the area is pretty peaceful inside, despite the bustling traffic jams on the main roads.

Negative

Ongoing constructions are one menace in the locality. It causes a lot of noise and dust, along with road pollution.

Andheri East is one place which is vibrant and filled with warm and friendly residential societies. People here are eager to help, and that has been my takeaway when I lived here in the past. Business hubs were situated in close proximity to the neighbourhood, and there are many film people living here also.

Positives: Staying in Andheri East for a brief period, I found it an efficient location for the workplace and daily commute. The location was well connected with the metro, local trains, Western Express Highway, and the airport within reach. SEEPZ/MIDC offices and corporate towers also reduced commute times. Malls, restaurants, schools and hospitals were within reach, and gated communities provided me with serenity. I enjoyed evening strolls within the office areas and quick food options post-work. Negatives: Downsides were obvious, such as heavy traffic and frequent waterlogging at the east–west subway; packed buses with long waits for SEEPZ routes; and increasing rents along lines of noisy construction around new projects. Flaws notwithstanding, I departed with useful memories. It seemed like a busy but useful part of my life. All in all, sincerely rewarding.

Positives: I absolutely love the practicality of living in Andheri East! It feels like a central pivot point for work because I’m so close to the MIDC and SEEPZ commercial areas. It is that short commute that is priceless. The connectivity is unbeatable, too. Having both the Western Express Highway and the Metro Line 1 nearby makes traveling across the city surprisingly feasible, which is a huge convenience. Negatives: But that convenience comes at a staggering cost; to get a decent flat, one has to put up with astronomical rents, hands down the biggest pet peeve. The noise pollution from the airport and incessant sounds of highways is around-the-clock, with no respite. Last but not least, the drainage is lousy, and waterlogging in internal lanes during the monsoon is a sure problem.

SEEPZ, MIDC and a lot of corporate offices are nearby, so job opportunities are close. Good hospitals, colleges, supermarkets and an active food culture provide daily convenience, and housing options vary from old buildings to new towers. Negatives: Two drawbacks I experience are congested traffic during rush hour and waterlogging during the monsoon due to poor drainage. Positives: Andheri East neighborhood is akin to a congested, well-connected area in Mumbai. Malls, hospitals, schools and offices are shut down, and new residential projects keep the place active. Negatives Traffic in the main roads becomes congested during rush hours. We access large business centres like SEEPZ and MIDC, with good social infrastructure, such as good schools, hospitals, and plenty of restaurants. It's really a place where everything is within reach. I want to give this locality a 5-star rating. Negatives: I have to admit, the only real drawback is all the constant construction. It's like a never-ending orchestra of drills and hammers.

Positives: As a Mumbai real estate agent, I can assure my customers that Andheri East is a preferred location for a reason. It's a prominent commercial and residential hub. The connectivity is unparalleled, with the local railway station, several metro stations, and situated right next to the Western Express Highway. We all have everything here, right from large business parks such as SEEPZ and MIDC to a good variety of schools, hospitals, and shopping complexes. Negatives: Conversely, however, the region has few green areas and parks. Buyers will not have that many open areas where they can lounge around, and this can be disappointing for individuals who would enjoy being out in the green.

Positives: I believe purchasing a property here has been an excellent decision. I appreciate how convenient it is to be so near the airport, a big advantage for my business trips. The connectivity is the best aspec, like the metro and Western Express Highway make it so convenient to travel around. All that I require is at handpicked distance. The community itself is lively and pulsating with a sense of city life. The never-ending hum of activity, from the crowded markets to the restaurants open into the late hours, provides an exhilarating ambiance to which I've grown accustomed. Negatives: Though I only want the area wasn't so phenomenally packed, the active atmosphere oftentimes surpasses the bother. Even with the high property prices, the absolute convenience and dynamism of the area make it an investment worth it.

Positives: I reside in this well-planned community. The airport is approximately. 3 km away, and the metro, local trains and major roads (Western Express Highway, JVLR, Andheri-Kurla Road) make it convenient to move around. SEEPZ, MIDC and BKC are nearby, thus jobs and offices are within reach. Malls (Infinity, Phoenix) and hospitals nearby. The roads are lit, and new developments keep the area updated. Negatives: I noticed some parts of the locality facing waterlogging during heavy monsoon, a lack of parking, and intermittent power cuts.

Everything one needs is here, from quality hospitals and schools to shopping malls. Negatives: The traffic is awful, particularly on the Western Express Highway. The air and noise pollution are also a concern due to the traffic. Additionally, I observed the roads tend to get waterlogged during the monsoon period.
