Goregaon West, Mumbai Reviews

My quick trip to Goregaon West was a wonderful encounter; it truly caught the real pulse of Mumbai. Being on the Western Railway line, the neighborhood always felt safe and the convenience was amazing. Commuting to corporate areas like Andheri and Malad was so simple thanks to that great connectivity, therefore saving me valued time. From places like Jain Hospital, I readily got local healthcare; my favorite element was the energetic atmosphere created by the local markets and the nearness to Oberoi Mall. Welcoming as the neighborhood was, the mix of residential comfort and commercial activity was certainly a benefit of the area. One area needing development, however, was the sporadic waterlogging and severe traffic congestion caused by low-lying terrain during heavy monsoon seasons.

Connectivity in the Goregaon West area is excellent with the railway station, the new metro line 2A, and the Western Express Highway nearly at my doorstep. Nearby are major shopping centers such Oberoi Mall and Inorbit, in addition to excellent hospitals and schools, therefore simplifying life. The mix of an urban vibe with patches of flora from the adjacent Aarey Colony region especially appeals to me; it gives me a chance to relax. Furthermore, the area is well kept and secure. One subject I want was superior monsoon drainage and road repair throughout intense rains. Some low-lying roads are prone to flood and cause slowdown. Still, I would gladly suggest Goregaon West as a tenant looking for an excellent location.

My clients should visit Goregaon West. One well linked western Mumbai neighbourhood with rail, metro and road access is this. The station serves both Western and Harbour routes; Metro Line 2A/7 improves travel comfort. Strong social infrastructure includes hospitals, schools, and malls (Oberoi, Infinity). For flats, yields here range from three to four percent. Buyers appreciate the reduced initial cost relative to Andheri or Bandra plus long-term growth possibilities. One area for development is more mature public green-spaces in certain regions. I believe Goregaon West provides astute value and livability for both investors and inhabitants.

Positive: Because of the sheer ease it provides, I really enjoy renting in Goregaon West. Having the local train station right here as a renter is One great benefit for traveling around Mumbai is our great social amenities, which include excellent hospitals, well-known shopping malls such Oberoi Mall, and outstanding educational institutions. All within easy reach & the Western Express Highway connectivity is great.

Negative

Negative: The biggest problem is surely the traffic congestion, particularly during rush hours, which can make local travel really annoying. Furthermore, because the area is low-lying, road flooding is a regular occurrence on days of torrential rainfall that disturbs regular life. Better drainage and traffic control would help this neighborhood become the ideal suburban spot.

Positive: Goregaon West felt like the perfect spot in the Western Suburbs, especially for connectivity. The railway station and upcoming metro made commuting seamless, linking easily to Andheri and business zones via the Western Expressway. Aquinas International School and the reliable Jain Hospital is nearby. My favourite part was the lively atmosphere and the access to fantastic shopping at places like Oberoi Mall.

Negative

Negative: Since the locality is in a geographically low-lying area, even moderate rainfall caused widespread road flooding, creating travel chaos. Additionally, despite the premium price tag, there was a noticeable lack of street lights in some internal residential lanes, which compromised safety at night.

Goregaon West offers a fantastic location and connectivity benefits. There are BEST bus stations, the Line 2A of the Mumbai Metro, Goregaon railway station lines, and of course, the WEH and SV Road. Vibgyor, St. John’s, and Lifeline Hospital are some of the key institutions situated nearby, while there are several nearby malls like the Infiniti Mall and Inorbit Mall. Several green space and parks are nearby, while multiple commercial and office hubs are also accessible from here. One thing I should mention is the occasional nature of power cuts, although this can be improved. Another issue is the waterlogging during the monsoon season.

Positives: The functioning Yellow Line Metro and Goregaon local railway station provide easy travel throughout Mumbai. It is centrally located with a wonderful sense of community and exceedingly safe. The best part is that it is very close to recreational areas and large medical facilities such as Oscar Hospital.

Negative

Negatives: The heavy traffic jam, primarily due to the current Metro Line 4 and Link Road construction work. The roads are already too narrow, and this work makes traveling a big hassle, particularly during rush hour. The lack of connectivity at underground Metro stations is infuriating, I frequently experience difficulty with mobile network signal, which is a nuisance in the event of an emergency.

I work in the Nirlon Knowledge Park nearby, while my spouse works in Nesco. So, for us, staying in this location is a big advantage for both of us, indeed. The property prices are costly, but what you get is an excellently-connected neighbourhood. I love how centrally it is positioned among the western suburbs. Of course, Malad and Andheri are accessible, while the Western Express Highway, Link Road, and SV Road are all pretty accessible too. In terms of civic and social infrastructure, almost everything we need is readily available in the neighbourhood.

Negative

Parking slots are rarely available in the local area. This can be a big issue when we are out in the locality.

Positives: My favorite feature is the amazing convenience location particularly the location near the local train and the Western Express Highway, it's special the way this suburb is so well-connected to the entire city. I enjoy fantastic benefits such as easy proximity to large hospitals and great schools in the vicinity. It's really a vibrant, self-contained place.

Negative

Negatives: I do not quite like the traffic condition at all. The jam, particularly during rush hours, is frustrating. And since this is a low-lying area, I'm seriously concerned about the road flooding that occurs during the monsoon season. That is the one thing that really needs immediate attention and improvement from the local authorities here.

I find the connectivity of the area very attractive, particularly since the Versova Marg and New Link Road are near to my residential complex. Then there is the Western Express Highway, metro network, railway station, and lots of public transportation options. So, from the commuting aspect, you will not face any problem while staying here. Also, the airport is very close by; it’s just about 18-20 minutes. This is a huge benefit for us.

Negative

I only hope that they clean the sewers thoroughly before the monsoon. Otherwise, it leads to waterlogging, which is not desirable in such a developed locality.

Yes, this part is not as green as the eastern side, which is nearer to Aarey Colony and all those areas. This one is more concrete and buildings. However, I will still give it full marks, due to its quick development and posh nature. I drive down to the BKC every day through the major roads, including the WEH, Versova Marg, and the New Link Road. Metro and railway access are both available, while being a frequent flyer, I also appreciate the 20-minute drive to the airport. My child studies in the Vibgyor High School nearby, and many other schools and hospitals like Lifeline are also nearby. Infiniti in Malad and Inorbit Mall are both accessible from here. There is just a need to clean the drainage system and prevent waterlogging during the monsoon season. The rest is good enough for me, at least!

Positives: I believe Goregaon West is really special owing to its phenomenal connectivity with the railway station, Metro Line 2A, Western Express Highway, and S V Road all within short distances. I have to say that I am extremely safe here with lit roads and patrolling police visible, and I noticed ample greenery around. This area is a busy residential and commercial hub with large malls and offices.

Negative

Negatives: I believe the most daunting daily challenge is the bad traffic congestion on the main roads during rush hours. I noted that due to the fact that the area is geographically low-lying, there is an acute and inevitable issue with road waterlogging and flooding. I should note that despite all the development, some of the inner roads continue to experience deteriorated surfaces and potholes.

Road connectivity is good in this area. The New Link and SV Roads are easily available, while there are several other benefits, including the metro access, good bus connectivity, and proximity to the airport within only 15-20 minutes or so. At the same time, there is great connectivity to places like Andheri and Powai, while shopping malls like Inorbit and reputed schools and hospitals are also present in the neighbourhood. The area has undergone rapid development, and the property prices have also increased rapidly over the years.

Negative

Drainage issues are present in the area, while there is over-construction in some stretches. This is a slight problem, since the area is not as green as the eastern part, which is nearer to the Aarey Colony.

Residing in Goregaon West is a major boon for my clients and family, owing mainly to the exemplary connectivity. We have the local railway station, Metro Line 2A, and swift connectivity to the Western Express Highway, thus making city commuting effortless. The locality is an excellent residential hub providing everything ranging from high-end apartments to budget-friendly housing, with excellent social infrastructure such as Oberoi Mall, best schools, and quality hospitals in the vicinity. To add on, the upcoming Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) is set to bring in a massive drive for east-west travel, bringing in major investment value. But because of its low-lying landscape, we are in for some major road flooding during heavy monsoons. The traffic jam during rush hour on the Link Road is simply a nightmare.

I have been staying in Goregaon West for the last 2-3 years now. However, I was always familiar with this locality and wanted to invest here. Firstly, property costs are on the higher side, and it has only gone up exponentially over the last few years. Secondly, Goregaon West is a connectivity dream- metro station, railway station, highway, SV Road, New Link Road, airport- everything is within arm’s length from the place. So, that will be a big advantage, along with social amenities like good schools and hospitals. You can also shop and dine at the nearby Inorbit Mall. These are some core USPs of the place.

Negative

I feel that the eastern side of the locality is greener and cleaner. This part is more crowded and looks like a sea of concrete.

Goregaon West, to me, has always been a very peaceful place, although it has changed over the years. My parents invested here early on, and the price appreciation has been tremendous! So, the airport is nearby, you can easily access Powai, Andheri, and many other places. The New Link Road and SV Road are our lifelines, not to mention the WEH, which is also pretty accessible from here. One benefit of being on the western side of the locality is that you are always near the railway station (about 2 km), and of course, the Metro networks also pass through the neighbourhood.

Negative

One of the issues, in my opinion, is that SRA projects, like the one in Motilal Nagar, may be overcrowding the neighbourhood. Also, I wish to mention the waterlogging during the monsoons.

Goregaon West is a well-connected and extremely livable area. I have been staying here for quite some time and can tell you that it is a very peaceful neighbourhood. There are multiple projects that are being developed in the neighbourhood as well, and that too, by leading real estate developers. At the same time, the airport connectivity is a big game-changer, at least for me, with the drive to the airport taking only 14-15 minutes on average. I have to fly out of the city every week for work, and this is definitely a huge advantage. Also, I would like to mention the easy access to Andheri East and West. This is one of the key factors for me, since my in-laws live in Andheri, while we shop, dine, and hang out in these places as well.

Goregaon West is otherwise a classic Mumbai locality, with the multiple societies, festivals, vibrant local markets, and the friendly people. The SV Road is also nearby, along with the Western Express Highway, and other major roads. In fact, the GMLR is coming up, and could lower the travel time considerably for those going to Mulund. You will find the Metro Line 2A and 7 here, while the Goregaon railway station is also accessible. When I used to stay here, the station was only a short walk away, while the airport is just 20-30 minutes away. Lifestyle-wise, schools, hospitals, shopping centres, eateries, etc., are all present here.

Negative

Having lived here for some years in the past, I can say that the eastern part of Goregaon is near the Aarey Colony and other forested zones. This part is more concrete and high-density in nature. Traffic congestion is also an issue here, while the poor roads and flooding are other big problems.

Positives: I am living on rent in Goregaon West and have been residing here for a long time. The locality is nicely planned. Metro 2A at Goregaon provides connectivity across western suburbs. Western Express Highway and local trains facilitate easy commuting. Shopping malls are proximal. Green pockets around Film City and Aarey provide peace. Schools and hospitals are within reach. I feel secure.

Negative

Negatives: Three areas require doing the right work. Internal roads require re-surfacing. Drainage is inadequate during heavy monsoon and leads to waterlogging. There is limited parking near towers and malls. More street lights and proper civic maintenance in certain lanes would be advisable. I still recommend Goregaon West to anyone looking for balance.

Positives: I've owned in Goregaon West for years and I loved it. We have the larger Goregaon Railway Station linking Western and Harbour lines on our doorstep, along with ready access to terrific spots like the enormous Oberoi Mall and the green oasis of Sanjay Gandhi National Park. It's an absolutely lively and safe neighborhood.

Negative

Negatives: Being at the low-lying area, the civic bodies have to upgrade the dilapidated roadways and the drainage system in order to get rid of the whopping road flooding during heavy monsoons. The incessant, high decibel din caused by non-stop redevelopment activities is really disturbing to our residential calm. Last but not least, dedicated public parking spaces are absent.

Positives: While I was staying in Goregaon West, I liked its strategic position and happening vibe. Connectivity was excellent with the nearby railway station, Western Express Highway. Nearby schools like Aquinas International and St. Thomas Academy, as well as hospitals like Lifeline Medicare, provided good health care. Shopping at Oberoi Mall and City Centre, along with many restaurants, was convenient. Parks and nearby Sanjay Gandhi National Park were perfect for weekend escapades.

Negative

Negatives: Yet, traffic jams, sporadic flooding during rains, crowded public areas, expensive properties, scarce parking, and constant construction were downsides. Barring these, Goregaon West was lively and well linked, although infrastructure, traffic regulation, public facilities, sanitation, and parking require upgradation.

It is very convenient and vibrant to live in Goregaon West, Mumbai. I like the convenient travel with Goregaon Railway Station, several bus stops, and future metro connectivity. There are good schools such as Aquinas International and St. Thomas Academy, and hospitals like Lifeline Medicare and Radha Krishna Hospital. Shopping at Oberoi Mall or City Centre and eating at neighborhood restaurants makes living easy. Roads are broad and well connected to Western Expressway, Andheri, Borivali, and business centers. Areas that require improvement are traffic jams during rush hours and more efficient management of waterlogging during monsoons. In all, Goregaon West is an active, well connected locale I highly recommend for renters.

Positives: Goregaon West location provides great connectivity through the Western Express Highway and Goregaon Railway Station, which makes commuting easy. The availability of popular malls such as Inorbit Mall and Oberoi Mall gives plenty of shopping and entertainment avenues. On top of that, the neighborhood has good schools and hospitals, providing a good living experience to the residents.

Negative

Negatives: The Coastal Road project ongoing has resulted in the uprooting and transplanting of several trees, affecting the greenery of the area. Positives: I feel extremely fortunate to be living Goregaon West. I can access the Goregaon railway station quite conveniently, and SV Road, Link Road, and the Western Express Highway are all within a stone's throw. Metro Line 2A allows me to commute to Andheri and BKC so much quicker than before. Decent hospitals, schools, shopping malls such as Inorbit, Oberoi are around, parks, and some good cafés. It also seems safer than some of the older suburbs.

Negative

Negatives: Water logging is serious in low lying areas during every monsoon. Parts of some areas lack regular water supply in old societies, pressure drops in summer. Green open spaces are less in some towers, gardens or parks are small or congested.

I enjoy the welcoming neighbors and local small cafes. Hospitals and supermarkets are shut. Trains and buses make daily life convenient.

Negative

Negatives: In my opinion very little can improve. Such as, park maintenance, garbage collection in certain alleys, and streetlights at night being brighter. Improving these will make Goregaon West even better to live in.

Positives: I love how much value my flat in Goregaon West is worth. It's one of the best investments ever. The absolute convenience is second to none, with the railway station, Metro connectivity, and Western Expressway at hand. We also have great lifestyle facilities, such as Oberoi Mall and good schools around us. It makes the entire area feel upscale and self-contained.

Negative

Negatives: But I get so infuriated with the weak civic infrastructure handling for such an expensive location. Traveling to and from work is usually a nightmare due to the complete lack of management of traffic congestion. During every monsoon, our low-lying roads have waterlogging issues, which is absurd for Mumbai. Additionally, the perpetual congestions and noise in the central market places must improve so that this unfortunate place can become serene.

Positives: I simply adore the vibe and energy of Goregaon West; everything is so convenient here! The biggest advantage for me personally is that it's so well-connected; being adjacent to the railway station and Western Expressway makes travelling around Mumbai such a breeze. And to top it off, having large malls like Oberoi and excellent healthcare facilities like Jain Hospital means all my needs are taken care of in an instant. This location is full of life and always buzzing.

Negative

Negatives: The only two big headaches are the monsoon seasonals and the state of interior roads. Being a low-lying area, even minor rain results in prompt waterlogging, which is a tremendous nuisance during the rainy season. Secondly, most of the residential interior stretches still possess nasty potholes, which make my evening walks a nuisance.

Positives: Life in Goregaon West was happening, and I always felt safe due to the good law and order and CCTV coverage. The social amenities were also of top class with international schools and upscale hospitals right on hand. I also enjoyed the excellent connectivity to WEH and JVLR, making crossing the city quite easy, and the soon-to-be-constructed GMLR flyover will provide even improved connectivity.

Negative

Negatives: The largest disadvantage was certainly the constant building. The constant building work meant constant noise and dust. As Goregaon is a low-lying area, some roads were infamous for flooding during the heavy monsoon rains. The booms in the property prices meant that having a good place was fast becoming a distant dream for most.

Positives: I jog often along the mangroves close to where I live in Goregaon West and am happy to have a flat here. I am a homeowner and I appreciate convenient rail connectivity on the Western line, ample shopping in Oberoi and Infiniti malls, quality schools and hospitals in the vicinity, and plenty of new homes that keep resale prices steady.

Negative

Negatives: I believe mangrove destruction and trash dumping concern local residents and are bad for the environment. Waterlogging and drainage breakdown affect some enclaves during heavy rains, and garbage collection and footpath maintenance are irregular in old lanes. Nevertheless, the neighborhood's shops, green oases and community spirit mean that Goregaon West is somewhere I cheerfully stay.

Goregaon West is one of the best places to stay in case you are looking for a well-connected, yet peaceful area. You will find the Highway nearby, and also the SV Road, which is pretty much my main lifeline. Everything that I need is along this stretch. Also, the JVLR and the railway station access are there. Many posh and charming residential societies with good amenities can be found all over the neighbourhood as well.

Goregaon West has been a nice place to stay, although I moved out since my office shifted more towards Navi Mumbai. The railway station was my lifeline when I was staying here, and the Highway was easy to access. There are many roads that connect here, including the JVLR, SV Road, and many others. This was one of the biggest benefits of staying here. At the same time, green places, parks, residential societies, and basic community amenities are well-developed here. It is more bustling than Navi Mumbai, but the classic Mumbai feeling is something to cherish here.

Negative

The negatives, in my opinion, include road maintenance. Approach to WEH is sometimes a nightmare, and is not repaired in a timely manner.

I also enjoyed the social scene, plenty of shopping and entertainment options, especially due to the presence of malls and local markets. Negatives: But it was not flawless. I recall the ever-present fear of the monsoons flooding it because of its low-lying terrain, and roads were not always well maintained. Further, the destruction of one of the main flyovers for new developments has left things in disarray, and I've heard it's given my former friends traffic hell.

Positives: I have been staying in Goregaon West for more than 25 years, and it has improved for the good. This locality is now a complete package deal. I can go walking to the local market for fresh produce or drive a little to a large mall such as Inorbit for my weekend excursion and movie. The connectivity is an added advantage with two metro stations and the Goregaon local train station. There are schools and hospitals right here, which is a big plus for my family. Overall, the atmosphere here is very safe and family-oriented. Negatives: The only small thing I do not like every now and then is the older buildings. Many of them are getting redeveloped, which is fantastic for new amenities. It also generates some construction dust.

Positives: I always inform my customers that this location is like an independent mini-city. I observe well-designed residential apartments, good roads, and excellent open spaces. I usually emphasise having big malls such as Oberoi Mall, recreational points, and numerous restaurants that make the weekends relaxed and enjoyable. I mention that schools, hospitals, and banks are in the vicinity. I also observe that the area is well linked with access to the Western Express Highway and local railway stations, so commuting becomes easier. The green patches and developed parks add a soothing touch despite proximity to the busy life of Mumbai. Negatives: I noted that certain areas of this area still experience infrequent waterlogging during heavy rainfall. Therefore, I believe it is something to note.

Positives: I chose Goregaon West years ago as I prefer its combination of city life and green oases. I think the Goregaon railway station and nearby metro stations are quite convenient, and I shop at Oberoi Mall, City Centre and local markets every week. I like quick proximity to good schools and hospitals, and Sanjay Gandhi National Park is near me for fresh air and walks. I find the place fairly accessible to the airport and other business centers, making daily life convenient. Negatives: I observe waterlogging and flooding during heavy rain, which annoys me. I also observe that property prices are too high and most flats have smaller room sizes.

Positive: I think this is an extremely well-connected area. The train station is located here, and now that the metro lines are extended here, it's a cakewalk. Everything is within reach, I am referring to malls such as Inorbit, lots of restaurants, and good schools. It's very independent. Negatives: The standard of living is rather high. I also would have liked to see more open, green areas for a jog or a walk; the place is highly congested and filled with buildings. It is like a very urban place.

Positives: Goregaon West is a wonderful place to reside. The connectivity is also excellent, with the railway station and the airport in close proximity. I have everything here, such as good hospitals, schools, and malls. Additionally, the area also seems very safe with lots of police around. Negatives: The traffic becomes nuts, particularly around rush hour, and the streets become awfully flooded when it rains. The apartments are hard to find in a decent size, and the rent keeps increasing.

Positives: I like that Goregaon West is a large hub with excellent train and metro connectivity. It's so easy to have everything from shopping malls to hospitals nearby. The open spaces also provide a pleasant break from city chaos. Negatives The roads can get really congested. And since it's a low-lying zone, many of the roads tend to flood during the monsoon season.

Positives: It is wonderful to live here. We have fantastic connectivity to Link Road and the Western Express Highway. Being so close to the Metro, malls, and IT parks like NESCO and Nirlon makes life so easy. Negatives: Traffic is a big nuisance, particularly during rush hour. The region becomes extremely congested, and we have serious waterlogging issues during the monsoon.
