Virar West, Palghar

Virar West is a major residential neighborhood in Mumbai and lies in close proximity to Mira Road. There are several mid range and premium projects dotting the area. Leading builders like Mayfair Housing, Rustomjee, Cosmos and Bhoomi are highly active in the area. There are several mid stage and ready to move projects in the area apart from new launches. 1 and 2 BHK housing units are majorly available in the area. Demand for property in Virar West has gone up with better connectivity and the advent of big ticket projects courtesy leading developers who are steadily changing the face of the area. The Virar railway station is a major connectivity lifeline in the area.The quadrupling of the Borivali-Virar railway line took place in the year 2007 but sufficient rakes are not yet available for residents to take advantage of this development. However, the year 2009 saw the upgradation of the Municipal Council to the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation. There are several road transport projects of the Corporation in partnership with the MMRDA which promise to boost development in the near future. The skywalk is a pioneering development and is one of the busiest in the city. The skywalk passes over the Totale Lake and a viewing tourist gallery has also been built in the middle. The Western Express Highway is also easily accessible from Virar West.The Virar-Alibaug Corridor project will eventually offer great metro and road connectivity between Virar and Alibaug and will also link the National Highways 8, 17, 4 and 3. The 140 kilometer corridor will reduce traveling time to an hour between the two stretches. The first phase will link Virar and Panvel. The 120 foot Vasai-Virar Link Road is another major connectivity development in the stretch. The area is frequented by tourists and offers access to several attractions including the Rajodi and Arnala beaches in addition to the Vatar and Navapur beaches. Several resorts have also come up in the area while the Great Escape Water Park and Yazoo Park are huge amusement parks here. There are several hill flying locations available in the area and paragliding training sessions are also conducted here.The area is also home to several landmarks including the Arnala Fort and the Vasai Creek and Vasai Fort which are both located nearby. Property prices have gone up by approximately 1.85% in the area as per Q3 2015 and average prices stand at around INR 5, 345 per sq. ft. here for the same period. Popular projects include Rustomjee Avenue I, Mayfair Housing Primrose, Bhoomi Acropolis, Mayfair Housing Virar Gardens and Ekta World Parksville to name a few. With better civic infrastructure and connectivity, demand for real estate in Virar West will increase further with the passage of time.
