Yapral lies in north-eastern Hyderabad and is a rapidly growing location. It was a Panchayat area until the 1980s, and then it was integrated into the MCA (Municipal Corporation of Alwal). However, twelve such municipalities including Alwal were integrated into the GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) in 2007.
