Yelahanka, located in Bengaluru's northern region, is a prosperous neighbourhood with both residential and commercial areas. It is barely 14 km away from the heart of Bengaluru, and the new Airport Road makes travelling there quick and easy. Yelahanka, which was formerly solely a Bengaluru satellite town, soon fell under the development purview of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). Yelahanka Old Town and Yelahanka New Town are the two segments that make up the area today due to its tremendous growth and expansion.
The majority of people are unaware that Yelahanka was Bengaluru's original location. Yelahanka became the first capital of the city after being built by Kempe Gowda, who also founded Bengaluru. He did not extend the city to Basavanagudi and KR Market until much later.
This place is closest to the Kempegowda International Airport. This area is getting developed at a rapid pace which also creates huge opportunities for its growth and expansion. There is a large number of new properties being developed here which can be used for both residential and commercial purposes. But one big drawback of this place is that it is far away from central Bangalore. Regular water supply is also an issue here and there are not adequate streetlights available on the roads.
